A SaaS developer has the vital duty of turning client requests into reality. They should have a clear understanding of the platforms, the needs of the target audience, and the technology stack that needs to be used to build the product. The developer should estimate and provide a technical description of how we will create the features.
The developer handles the number of features to be built into the product and manages the service upgrade frequency. They’re also responsible for integrating the development with other services through APIs and are accountable for ensuring the platform’s scalability, security, and reliability.
The developer should work closely with the QA and backend (if needed) team to deliver the project.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Work with development teams and product managers to create software solutions.
- Work collaboratively with design, development, management, & QA teams
- Work on multiple projects (multi-tasking).
- Switch between SaaS platforms (BigCommerce, Shopify, and WordPress).
- Troubleshoot front-end issues & provide rapid solutions
- Follow Shero’s best practices & coding standards
- Communicate progress, timelines, & deliverables; give updates in Standups & other meetings.
- Participate in Shero mentoring, skill-sharing, & Code Clubs and share knowledge.
- Contribute to improvements to Shero’s development.
- Work closely with the FE team and the Leads to improve Shero, innovate, and raise concerns.
- Responsible for engagement with the product team and setting the direction for software development and platforms
- Follow Shero’s workflow and procedures.
- Innovate/experiment with new technologies and provide documentation to spread the knowledge to the rest of the team.
- Implement new technologies/tools the company decides to use/add to its technology stack.
- Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency and that it matches the design.
- Work with the styling part and functionality area on the SaaS platforms

- Write technical documentation – after building an application, feature, or theme
- Take ownership of the project by providing technical support/solutions, ensuring the project follows the workflow, and raising concerns whenever necessary.
