For our organization we are looking for a: IT Applications Administrator

SUMMARY:
He/she is reporting to the IT Applications Supervisor and is a focal point for implementation, governance, and support of core Business applications. His/her role is to ensure that the Aleat systems are online and operational. When issues occur, it is his/her job to ensure these problems are minimized and resolved. He/she has the responsibility of managing all procedures related to the identification, prioritization, and resolution of incident. He/she is appreciated for his/her work ethic, company attitude, commitment to quality and “Problem Solving” focus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administrating his/her portfolio of Business Applications to ensure the full availability of the production environment;
  • Follow-up of maintenance issues, patch management and changes to apply on Aleat applications;
  • Coordinating the operations and the day-to-day performance based on the Supervisor guidelines;
  • Ensuring administration, maintenance, availability and integrity of all Aleat Business Applications and within his/her perimeter;
  • Overseeing the deployment of the assigned IT Business Applications based on vendor roadmap;
  • Processing all incoming requests to IT Applications team to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end user issues with high level of satisfaction;
  • Monitoring and test fixing to ensure problems have been adequately resolved;
  • Collaborating with all departments to identify operations problems and propose solutions;
  • Collaborating with IT Security team in order to ensure a mature secure and operational robust environment/system for the assigned applications;
  • Collaborating with IT Infrastructure team in order to ensure an operational environment for the assigned business applications;
  • Controlling, updating and disseminating of technical documentation.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • University Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Information systems or in relevant disciplines;
  • Previous working experience as a Linux or Windows Administrator for minimum 3 years;
  • In depth knowledge of Linux: Red Hat, Oracle Linux or CentOS;
  • Hands on experience with Apache, Tomcat, JOBOSS application server;
  • Hands on experience with Shell, Perl and/or Python scripting;
  • Knowledge on Oracle Data Base basics and maintenance;
  • Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP;
  • Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts;
  • Good knowledge of English language written and spoken;
  • Flexible on working extra time;
  • A team player role and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines;
  • Good analytical and learning skills, ability to understand complex situations,
